Ivie Funeral Home JULIA T. AMIDEI


Julia T. Amidei, 93, of Hayesville died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 in a Murphy medical center.  A native of Chicago, IL, she had lived most of her life in Highwood, IL and Port Charlotte and Naples, FL before moving to Clay County in 2005.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ernesta Trabachi Anselmini and the wife of the late Nello F. Amidei, who died Feb. 22, 1997.  She was a homemaker and was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Julia loved her family, friends, and the Chicago Cubs.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Wiegold and husband, Richard “Butch” of Hayesville; a son, Lawrence Amidei and wife, Laverne of Sebring, FL; and 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson.
 
A funeral mass was held at 10:30 AM Friday (Aug. 22) in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father George Kloster officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
 
The family received friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in memory of Julia T. Amidei to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, PO Box 546, Murphy, NC 28906.
