DANIEL J. WEDDLE

Daniel J. Weddle, 93, of Murphy died Wednesday (June 04, 2008). A native of Newkirk, OK, he had moved to Murphy from Cape Coral, FL in 2005. He was the son of the late Albert Benjamin and Myrtle Sarah Gaines Weddle and the husband of the late Marilyn Weddle who died in 2003. He was a veteran of Vietnam, Korea, and WWII. He retired from the United States Air Force as a chief master sergeant. After retiring from the air force in 1971, he had worked for the state of Florida as a sales tax auditor.

Surviving are a daughter, Dawn McCurdy and husband, Jeff of Murphy; a sister, Kay McKinley of Huntington Beach, CA; a brother, A.B. Weddle of IL; and two grandchildren, Kim Brantly, and Dusty McCurdy, and three great grandchildren, Sierra and Cheyenne Brantly, and Caden McCurdy.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM Friday (June 6) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Dr. James A. Johnson officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM Monday (June 9) in the Coral Ridge Cemetery in Cape Coral, FL.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:15 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in memory of Daniel J. Weddle to the Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House, 571 S. Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731.
